Important dates and deadlines for 2024 General Election voting in New Jersey

The 2024 General Election is less than three months away. Here are important dates to be aware of to make sure you get to cast your vote in the November 5 election.

Voter registration deadline

You must register to vote by October 15. You can register via mail or online. If you register by mail, your form must be postmarked by this date.

In-person early voting

You can vote in person early from October 26 through November 3. Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays. On Saturdays and Sundays, polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Vote by mail application deadline

If you choose to mail in your application to vote by mail, the application must be received by your county clerk by October 29.

If you want to submit an application to vote by mail in person, you must go to your county clerk’s office on weekdays during office hours. The deadline is 3 p.m. on November 4.

November 5 voting hours

The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. in New Jersey.
