Police arrest suspect in University Place lewdness incident

A suspect has been arrested for a lewdness incident that took place on University Place on the morning of Aug. 28.

At about 8:15 a.m., a man wearing a baseball cap who had parked his white sedan along a curb on University Place was seen masturbating in the vehicle. When an observer took out a cell phone to call the police, the man drove away, heading west on Dickinson Street.

In the afternoon, a suspect was identified and charged by police. According to the Department of Public Safety, the man is not a member of the campus community and has been barred from campus.

On Aug. 26 at about 8:30 p.m., a similar incident took place. A man was observed masturbating in a dark sedan parked on University Place. Earlier that same evening, a man exposed himself to a jogger on the D&R Canal path.

If you have any information about the incidents, call the Princeton University Department of Public Safety at 609-258-1000.
