West Windsor Farmers Market gears up for spring season

The West Windsor Farmers Market will host three more winter markets before transitioning to a weekly Saturday outdoor schedule beginning May 2.

The market, located on the southbound side of the Princeton Junction Train Station’s Vaughn Drive lot, will hold its twice-monthly winter markets on March 21, April 4, and April 18 before shifting to weekly dates in May. More than 40 farms and vendors are expected at each market.

Offerings include locally grown fruits and vegetables, mushrooms, fresh pasta, smoked meats and fish, goat and cow milk cheeses, sustainably caught seafood, pastured meats and eggs, sourdough breads and pastries, distilled spirits and wine, fresh juices, Lebanese prepared foods, vegan chocolates, pesticide-free flowers, teas, coffee, and more. The market also features a knife sharpening service and a food waste recovery program.

“You’ll be thrilled with just how much local food is grown, raised, and produced by our makers, bakers, movers, and shakers,” said market manager Chris Cirkus.

The market accepts SNAP benefits and doubles them up to $25 per card per day toward fruits and vegetables. Marketwide vouchers worth $40 are currently available for SNAP and WIC shoppers while supplies last.

The market is accessible by car, with free parking off 877 Alexander Road, and by public transit via NJ Transit bus route 877 at the corner of Vaughn Drive and Alexander Road, a roughly one-eighth-mile walk to the lot. The market is also a half-mile walk from the Princeton Junction Dinky station.
