County Elections Board to Hold Public Meeting Tonight on New Consolidated Princeton Election District Map

The Mercer County Board of Elections will hold a series of public meetings on the new election districts for the consolidated Princeton. The first meeting will be held tonight at 7:30 at the township municipal building.

Tonight the elections board will explain the redistricting process, members of the Consolidation and Shared Services Commission will give feedback, and the public will have the opportunity to comment.

On Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the township municipal building, the board will present one or two draft maps, developed by an engineer contracted by the county, for comments and input from the public.

At the last meeting Dec. 19 at 5:30 p.m. at the township municipal building, the board will present the proposed final redistricting map to the public and explain next steps.

  • Ted, council members will be chosen at large. I think there is concern that the voting districts be drawn up so that polling locations are convenient for voters.

  • What are the implications of this decision when Borough Council members will be chosen at large?
