Couple Robbed at Gunpoint Early Saturday in Downtown Princeton

A couple was robbed at gunpoint early Saturday morning near the intersection of Nassau Street and Witherspoon Street, police said.

Just after 3 a.m. a man and woman reported that they were approached by three men with handguns who demanded money. One of the suspects struck the male victim behind the right ear with the handle of his handgun and another suspect struck the female victim in the ribs with his firearm, the victims said.

Both reported injuries from the assault and said $700 in cash was taken. The suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Any witnesses to this incident or anyone having any information with regard to the incident is asked to contact the Princeton Borough Detective Bureau at (609) 924-4141.

– The first suspect is described as a dark skinned male, approximately 5’11” tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds, wearing a blue sweatshirt, dark colored jeans, and a red bandana covering his face.

– The second suspect is described as a dark skinned male, approximately 5’7” tall, weighing 180-190 pounds, wearing a dark colored sweatshirt, dark jeans, and a red bandana covering his face.

– The third suspect is described as a dark skinned male, approximately 5’4” tall, weighing  approximately 150 pounds, wearing a long sleeved red shirt, blue jeans and a red bandana covering his face.
