Candelight Vigil in Princeton Tonight to Call for End to Gun Violence

candleA candlelight vigil will be held at 5 p.m. tonight on Palmer Square in downtown Princeton in memory of the victims of the elementary school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut.

Organizers will remember the victims and stand together to say “Enough! No more gun violence.”

The shooting rampage  in Connecticut was one o the deadliest school shootings in U.S. history. Gun safety experts report that there have been 31 school shooting incidents in the U.S. since Columbine in 1999.

Vigils will take place across the country at tonight in memory of the victims and to call for stricter gun control laws.  The national event is organized by Moveon.org. Participants will share stories of gun violence an the group will then plan actions to stop the violence.

The vigil will run from 5 to 6 p.m. Palmer Square is located on Nassau Street in the center of Princeton Borough.

  1. I, for one, would be there if we would be standing together to say “Enough! No more violence.”. Focusing on the tool rather than the cause will solve nothing.
