Portions of Route 206 in Princeton to Be Closed Next Week

detourBeginning on Monday, April 1,  a tree maintenance project will take place along Route 206 between Ewing Street and Herrontown Road in Princeton, officials announced today.

The work is being conducted as a maintenance project in response to problems that were encountered due to storms this past year. The project, which is being conducted by Princeton in conjunction with the New Jersey Department of Transportation and PSE&G, is scheduled to take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, April 5th. During those times Route 206 will be closed to automobile and light truck traffic. Large trucks will be held in a staging area on either end of the work area, and will be allowed to pass through the closed roadway at periodic intervals determined by traffic control personnel.

Detours for automobile and light trucks will be well posted and will route both north and southbound traffic on to Mount Lucas Road.  While these measures are being taken to ensure continued traffic flow around the designated work area, officials said delays are possible.
