Flemington Road Rage Incident Leads to Stabbing
A man was so angry when another driver allegedly cut him off while driving in Flemington that he smashed a car window and tried to stab the driver, police say.
David Gibson, 53, of Raritan Township allegedly was cut off by another vehicle at the intersection of Church Street and Broad Street. When the two vehicles approached the next intersection at Main Street, Gibson exited his vehicle and allegedly approached the car that cut him off and smashed the driver’s window. The driver exited the car and Gibson allegedly stabbed him with a knife. The driver had a minor puncture wound and was treated at Hunterdon Medical Center.
Gibson was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, possession of a weapon, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct. His bail was set at $10,000.
