Agricola’s Josh Thomsen and the Great Road Farm’s Steve Tomlinson will be sharing a taste of their culinary partnership tonight at the prestigious James Beard House in New York City.
Thomsen and his kitchen team will prepare hors d’oeuvres, dinner and dessert for guests at the James Beard House for the event “Rustic Farmhouse Rendezvous.”
The kitchen at the James Beard House, where James Beard used to cook for his friends and hold cooking classes, is where chefs from around the world have come to prepare meals for foundation members, guests, and the public for more than 25 years. The Beard Foundation offers a variety of events and programs designed to educate people about great food.
The event, which begins at 7 p.m., is sold out, but you can watch Thomsen and his team prepare their food live on the James Beard Foundation Kitchen Cam. You can choose whether to watch from the kitchen camera, the stove camera, or the prep camera. The menu for the evening includes heirloom radishes with organic butter and Maine sea salt, pickled and fermented summer vegetables, grilled Creekstone Farms beef rib-eye steak with Great Road Farm rainbow Swiss chard, chocolate–cherry tart with Great Road Farm Thai basil ice cream, several other hors d’oeuvre and entree choices, and wine pairings.
