Obituary: H. Robert Schroeder Dies at 62
H. Robert Schroeder, a former state police employee and photographer, died Oct. 22 at the at Lourdes Specialty Hospital of Southern New Jersey. He was 62. His mother, Gladys DeSantis Schroeder, died at the age of 90 two days before her son died.
Born in Trenton, Robert was a life-long area resident. He retired as a communications and warning officer for New Jersey Office of Emergency Management and enjoyed spending his time taking pictures and serving as the president of the Delaware Valley Radio Association. In addition to being a professional photographer, he was also an avid Corvette owner and member of the Liberty Region Corvette Club.
He formerly worked for NJN Channel 52 as an audio engineer. He was an advisory board member for Mary Ellen Assembly of Rainbow for girls, Capital Chapter Demo Day of Boys, was president of W2ZQ Ham Radio Club, and past president of the Trenton Kiwanis Club. He was a member of Pennington Road Fire and First Aid Company and a past master of Trenton-Cyrus Lodge, past Grand Organist for the Grand Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Central Jersey. Gladys Schroeder was a saleswoman at the English Shop in Princeton until she retired.
Funeral services for Robert Schroeder will be held Tues., October 28th, at 11 a.m. at the Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Road, Pennington. Msgr. Ralph Stansley, pastor of Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church in West Trenton, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ewing Church Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m at the funeral home, with Masonic Services at 7:30 p.m.
