Jammin’ Crêpes and Cherry Grove Farm to Present Two Preserving Classes

Jammin’ Crêpes and Cherry Grove Farm will host two preserving classes this fall.

Learn to preserve Jersey tomatoes from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16. Join Jammin’ Crêpes Co-Founder and Cornell
University Cooperative Extension Master Food Preserver Kim Rizk will guide participants through the recipe steps as they chop and cook, and go through the basics of water bath canning. Experts from Cherry Grove Farm will then pair the tomato preserves with their cheeses.

On Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Rizk will demonstrate how to preserve the local fall apple and squash harvests. Participants will be guided through the recipe steps and the basics of water bath canning. Then experts from Cherry Grove Farm will pair apple preserves and squash pickles with their cheeses.

The participants in each class will go home with the recipes and canning details, as well a jar of each recipe made that day. At least one recipe will be shelf stable. The registration fee per person for each class is $50. Space is limited. To reserve a spot, sign-up by following the link.
