False Alarm: West Windsor Municipal Building Evacuated After White Powder Discovered
The West Windsor municipal building was evacuated Thursday morning after white power was discovered in an envelope the town received in the mail.
West Windsor police officers were called to the building at about 8:45 a.m. The building was evacuated and closed to the public as a precaution. The West Windsor emergency services special operations and hazmat unit arrived moments later and conducted a full investigation. A bomb dog from the Render Safe Task Force was also brought in as a precaution, and the dog did not discover anything unusual.
The substance in the envelope was found to be harmless.
All employees returned to work without incident and the building was reopened to the public. A full investigation is being conducted by Detective Sergeant Skwierawski.
