NJ Transit Bans Alcoholic Beverages on Trains and Buses This Weekend
There will be a system wide ban on alcoholic beverages on NJ Transit buses, trains and light rail cars this weekend, beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 10.
The ban has been put into place because of various special events in New Jersey and New York this weekend, NJ Transit officials said.
Open containers of alcohol will not be permitted. Officials said the rules will be strictly enforced.
The ban will end at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, June 12.

Normally, riders can drink on trains?
Yes, NJ Transit allows alcohol but reserves the right to prohibit it on occasions such as the St. Patrick’s Day parade.
