A 28-year-old resident of Birch Avenue woke up just after midnight Wednesday and found an intruder in her bed. The man was sexually assaulting her. The woman managed to escape, exit the house, and call 911.

Police said the assailant, Pedro Arias-Santiago, 26, of Leigh Avenue, was apprehended by responding officers outside the victim’s house and was in possession of several articles of clothing belonging to the victim. Police say it appears he gained access to the home through an unlocked door.

Arias-Santiago was charged with aggravated sexual assault, burglary and theft.

    1. He is indeed “undocumented” as they say, per what is a much more detailed article on a competing local news site.

  1. NJ com confirmed he is here illegally. I believe the town should be sued for deliberately taking steps to keep illegals in Princeton and ignoring federal law while creating ways for illegals to avoid ICE by creating County ID’s at the Library. This is ridiculous. Our elected officials need to be held accountable for their brain-dead policies. Frankly, they couldn’t manage a revolving door let alone a municipality.

    1. Agreed, 100%. Though perhaps only the victim in this case would have standing to file suit. And she may be “undocumented” as well, which would obviously complicate things.

    2. Since my first reply was deleted–for unfathomable reasons–I will repost it. I agree 100% the town should be held accountable for its irresponsible policies. As I mentioned before, it might be the victim who would have to sue–though it’s possible she’s an illegal as well, which would pose a problem. Not sure why this was deemed a comment worthy of censorship..

    3. I am just waiting until Princeton welcomes the Syrian refugees. Will they have a Sharia law court?

  2. Hopefully this predator will be given a long sentence before he does even more damage than he has already done.

  3. So if we don’t build a wall he will just walk right back in the country after he is deported.

  4. Princeton prides itself on being somewhat of a “sanctuary city”. I’m sure this would change drastically if this woman was a family member of one of the council members. This is far far far from the first time that an ILLEGAL immigrant who was living in Princeton committed a crime against a CITIZEN of Princeton (and the US). Wake up people! These are your elected officials. It’s time to take action and get the liberal democrats out and someone with common sense in.
