For the first time in almost a decade, Montgomery Township has appointed a new police director.

Captain Thomas Wain, a 22-year veteran of the Montgomery Township Police Department, was sworn in at the Dec. 15th township committee meeting. Long time Montgomery Police Officer Kurt Rock was also promoted to lieutenant.

“This culmination of four years of hard work and planning as we transitioned to a new generation of leaders, said Deputy Mayor Ed Trzaska. “Tom Wain is the right person to lead our department and continue to strengthen our visibility and relationship with our residents. We are proud of the quality of our police and we will support them in any way possible.”

Lt. Kurt Rock will serve as operations commander, taking on Wain’s previous role. Rock has also been with the department for twenty-two years. Lt. James Gill is in charge of the police department’s administrative division and Lt. Thomas Frasceto leads the services division.

After 37 years of service in Montgomery, the last eight years as police director, Captain Robert Palmer retired in November.
