Spring cleaning day at the Princeton Battlefield set for April 1
On Saturday, April 1 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Princeton Battlefield Society and the Sierra Club will host a clean-up day at the Battlefield State Park. The event will be held in conjunction with the Civil War Trust’s Park Day, a nationwide clean-up day. Volunteers will receive a free t-shirt.
Organizers are seeking volunteers for three teams:
One team will remove porcelainberry, an invasive species, from dogwoods near the colonnade. A second team will cut invasive bamboo. The third team will clear the path to the Friends Meeting House.
Volunteers of all ages welcome. Organizers will provide age-appropriate gloves, saws, clippers, and pruning shears or you can bring your own.
Meet at the Clarke House on Mercer Street.
Please RSVP with the name of the team you want to join by emailing princetonbattlefieldsocinfo@gmail.com.
