Suspect arrested in Route 1 hotel robbery and assault in South Brunswick
A man allegedly robbed the front desk manager and assaulted people in the lobby at the Hotel Vincenza on Route 1 Saturday, and then attacked two police officers.
Just after noon Saturday two officers arrived at the hotel after police received a 911 call.Β The hotel manager told police that a person staying at the hotel, Kevin Thompson-Perry,27, of West Paterson had assaulted two employees and a minor all while stealing cash from the register. The manager said Thompson-Perry then fled the lobby and headed back to his hotel room.
The two officers went to the room and knocked on the door. The officers instructed Thompson-Perry to exit the room but he refused. One officer entered the room and Thompson-Perry allegedly knocked him into a wall. The officers wrestled Thompson-Perry to the ground as he spit at them, police said. The officers were able to subdue the suspect and handcuff him.
Thompson-Perry was charged with robbery, aggravated assault, terroristic threats, resisting arrest, throwing bodily fluids at a law enforcement officer, simple assault, and burglary. He was processed and taken to the Middlesex County Correction Center.
