Several dozen volunteers took part in the Princeton Battlefield Clean-up Day on Saturday, April 1. The event was sponsored by the Princeton Battlefield Society and the New Jersey Sierra Club, and was held as part of the Civil War Trust’s Park Day, a nationwide clean-up day. Several kindergarteners pitched in at the Princeton Battlefield event, picking up fallen sticks. Other volunteers removed invasive porcelain berry vines from dogwoods, cut down bamboo, and cleared the pathway to the Quaker Meeting House. Free t-shirts were provided by the Civil War Trust. State Senator Kip Bateman and Assemblyman Reed Gusciora joined the volunteers. Photo: John Lien.
