Severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 1:30 p.m.
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the region until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Wind gusts of up to 80 miles per hour and hail the size of pennies are possible. Widespread wind damage is possible. Power outages and tree damage are likely. The storm is moving at 75 miles per hour and currently extends from Florence to Rocky Hill, according to the National Weather Service.
