NJ attorney general to host virtual town hall today to discuss violence reduction strategies in Trenton

The New Jersey Attorney General’s office is hosting a virtual town hall at noon today, June 16, to discuss strategies to reduce violence in Trenton. This month is National Gun Violence Awareness Month.

The attorney general is holding the town hall because violence affects far too many Trenton residents, and at a time when violent crime rates declined across New Jersey,

Officials said the state has ramped up its efforts to protect the residents of Trenton, but there is more work to be done.

Attorney General Gurbir Grewal will be joined by chief counsel for the governor Matt Platkin, Pastor John Taylor of the Capital City Community Coalition, and Brittany Aydelotte of the Capital City Youth Violence Coalition for a discussion about factors that contribute to violence and community-based violence reduction strategies.
