Many Princeton area roads still closed because of downed trees and wires
Many roads were still closed in the Princeton region on Tuesday night due to debris, tree limbs or wires blocking the roads. In many areas, traffic lights on main roads are also still out of service.
Police in many towns are asking residents to drive only if it is essential. Do not remove or circumvent barricades or cones on roadways, or try to remove tree limbs or wires from roads. Do not try to drive under wires hanging down across roads. Stay home for your safety if you can.
Police in West Windsor reported that Route 1 south between the Carnegie Center and Meadow Road opened back up at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The following are road closures that were announced late Tuesday afternoon and evening. Some of these roads may have opened as of press time. This is the latest information we have, and we will update the list as more information becomes available.
In Princeton, Snowden Lane is closed at Herrontown Road. Herrontown Road is not passable between Poor Farm and Snowden. Hamilton Avenue is also closed just before Snowden Lane. Riverside Drive and Russell Road are also closed.
In Lawrence, trees are blocking the roadway on Route 206 between Carter Road and Province Line Road, and on Princeton Pike between Lewisville Road and Province Line Road.
In the Hopewell Valley, the following are closed:
Ingleside Avenue at Search Avenue
Pennington Harbourton Road near Timberlane Drive
Province Line Road north of the railroad tracks (completely closed)
Route 518 between Stony Brook Road and Route 31 (completely closed)
Cherry Valley Road just west of Province Line Road (one lane open)
Route 29 is completely closed in several locations between Church Road and Valley Road. Detour is in place at C.H. 546 and C.H. 518 in Lambertville.
Woosamonsa Road between Poor Farm Road and Rt. 579
In West Windsor, the following roads were closed Tuesday afternoon:
Old Trenton Road / New Village
Wallace Circle
Edlinburg / New Village
Alexander / Vaughn
Robbinsville Edinburg / Stoneybrook
Mc Park East Picnic Area
571/Cranbury
571/ Rabbit Hill
Harris/Lillie
Emmons/Loetscher
Clarksville/Meadow
Reed Drive / Village
In Montgomery, portions of River Road, Princeton Avenue, Harlingen Road, the Great Road, Dutchtown Zion Road, and Spring Hill Road were closed as of late Tuesday afternoon.
In Franklin Township, Canal Road is closed between the Griggstown Causeway and Mosher Road. County Road 518 is now open near Canal Road. Amwell Road is closed between Mettlers Road and Van Cleef Road due to trees down.

In Hillsborough Township, River Road is closed between Roycefield Road and the Raritan Borough border until further notice due to wires down. Blackwells Mills Road is also closed in the area of the causeway due to trees and wires down.
