Princeton University students robbed at gunpoint early Sunday morning

Two men held three Princeton University students up at gunpoint on the main campus of the school early Sunday morning. No one was injured in the incident, according to the university’s public safety department.

After being robbed of personal items near 1939 Hall, the students contacted public safety. Campus officers responded to the scene where the victims were located. The Princeton Police arrived and searched the area, but the suspects could not be located. The suspects were described as possibly wearing hooded sweatshirts.

The campus was locked down from about 4:30 a.m. to about 6:15 a.m. Extra public safety patrols have been deployed on campus, and the investigation is ongoing.

Princeton Police referred all questions about the incident to the university.

We have reached out to a university spokesperson, and we will update this story when we have more information.
