Small Bites brings gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches to Nassau Street with new pop-up shop ‘Loco Cheese’
Small Bites, the casual Greek food eatery on 20 Nassau Street, is now offering gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches through its new pop-up shop, Loco Cheese.
Tony Kanterakis, the owner of the popular Local Greek restaurant on Leigh Avenue, said he had extra space in the front window of his casual grab-and-go Nassau Street location. He decided to use the space for grilling and wanted to offer some comfort food options for people on a budget like the university students living just across the street from his business.
Grilled cheese sandwiches at Loco Cheese aren’t your average grilled cheese. The sandwiches are stacked high, and the shop offers a variety of interesting combinations. Cheese choices include American, cheddar, provolone, mozzarella, and Monterey. You can get a classic grilled cheese, a bacon and egg breakfast grilled cheese, avocado, provolone with ham and tomato, chicken with buffalo sauce, cheesesteak, pesto and chicken, and even a meatball grilled cheese.
Prices range from $9.95 to $12.95. You can add an egg to any grilled cheese for $2. Tomato soup is $4.95 and you can also satisfy that craving for cheese fries for $6.95, with your choice of cheese.
Small Bites by Local Greek and Loco Cheese are located at 20 Nassau Street. The eatery is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
