On May 14, the Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey will host a rally in Princeton to demand that the right to choose an abortion be protected in the wake of the leak of a draft Supreme Court opinion that would overturn the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.

The “Bans Off Our Bodies” rally will be held on Hinds Plaza next to the Princeton Public Library on Witherspoon Street from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 14.

On Monday, May 2nd, Politico published a leaked draft Supreme Court majority opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization that overturns Roe v. Wade. The unprecedented leak from the court that, if true, would reverse almost 50 years of precedent and end federal constitutional protections for abortion. Twenty-six states could move quickly to ban abortion.

“The people in your community and across the country deserve the power and freedom to make their own personal reproductive health care decisions,” reads the rally statement. “It is necessary to act now, all across the country, not only to demonstrate that people support abortion access, but to show that we won’t back down.”
