Have you had a check stolen in the Princeton area and forged? We want to hear from you.

If you live in the Princeton area or you are a Planet Princeton reader in municipalities in Mercer, Somerset, Middlesex, and Hunterdon counties and you have written a check that has been stolen after it was: 1) put in a U.S. Postal Service mailbox 2) dropped off at a U.S. Post Office or 3) left at a home address for pickup by the mailman, we want to hear from you.

Send an email to editor AT planetprinceton.com or text 609-375-8920 about your experience and we will follow up with you for more information about the theft and efforts made to recoup your stolen funds. You can choose to remain anonymous if you wish. We will not use your name in a story without your express permission.

Mail theft is a growing problem. We would like to understand the ways it is happening and what kind of follow-up there is from the U.S. Postal Service. We also want to hear about solutions residents may have come up with to address the issue.

Thank you,

Planet Princeton Editor Krystal Knapp
