Kelly Curtis won a World Cup Medal in the women’s skeleton race for the first time in Lake Placid on Dec. 16.
Curtis was eighth after the first heat of the World Cup, but went on to post the second-best time in the second heat. Curtis set a career-best finish for the second consecutive race. She was fifth at the World Cup stop in Park City, Utah two weeks earlier.
A Princeton native who represented the United States in Beijing for the 2022 Winter Olympics, Curtis attended Princeton High School and the Lawrenceville School. Her father, John Curtis, was a beloved athletics director at Princeton High School.
