Police release name of man who died after SUV overturned during storm in West Windsor

One person died and two people were critically injured after the driver of a Nissan Pathfinder ran off of Old Trenton Road in West Windsor Monday night during the storm, police said.

At about 10:40 p.m. on June 26, police were dispatched to Old Trenton Road near Cubberley Road in response to a serious vehicle crash. A 2013 Nissan Pathfinder with seven occupants had flipped over. Three of the seven occupants of the vehicle were ejected from the Nissan.

A 43-year-old who was ejected from the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. On Wednesday, police released the identity of the man who died. Jamson Lysius, a resident of Trenton, is the person who died in the crash.

The other six people sustained a variety of injuries and were transported to the Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton.  Two people are listed in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, and four people sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

A preliminary investigation by police revealed that the Nissan was traveling westbound on Old Trenton Road just west of Cubberley Road on a straight section of roadway.  The roadway was wet and it was still raining. The driver lost control, exited the roadway to the right, and the Nissan flipped over several times on the 1400 Block of Old Trenton Road before it came to its final resting place, police said.

The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office and the Middlesex County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene. The West Windsor Township Division of Fire & Emergency Services, Lawrence Township EMS, Robbinsville EMS, RWJ Ambulance, East Windsor EMS, and Capital Health Medics attended to the occupants of the vehicle.

The investigation is currently ongoing. If anyone has information about the crash, please contact West Windsor Police Traffic Officer F. Sabatino at (609) 799-1222, call the police department’s anonymous tipline at (609) 799-0452, or email Sabatino@westwindsorpolice.com.
