Storm update: Flood watch in effect for Princeton area until 6 p.m. Thursday, high winds bring down trees and wires in the region (last updated 9 a.m. April 4)

The National Weather Service flood watch for Central New Jersey is in effect until 6 p.m. Thursday.

In Princeton, the entire length of Quaker Road is closed due to flooding. River Road is closed due to flooding. Cherry Hill Road between Ridgeview Road and Cherry Valley Road is closed due to low-hanging wires over the roadway. South Harrison Street is closed between Hartley Avenue and Route 1. Chambers Street is closed due to debris in the road. Poe Road is closed between Random Road and Route 27. Westcott Road is closed between Library Place and Elm Road due to low-hanging wires. Brookstone Drive by Wendover Drive is closed due to a tree and wires on the roadway. Terhune Road is partially closed on the 400 block due to low-hanging wires across the westbound lane.

Moore Street is closed between Wiggins Street and Spruce Street. Chestnut Street is closed between Spruce Street and Nassau Street for scheduled construction work.

Pheasant Hill Road is now open. Carter Road in Lawrence is now open.

In Hopewell, Lambertville Hopewell Road (Route 518) is closed from Route 31 to West Broad Street due to a downed tree. Work is expected to continue overnight to clear the road.

In West Windsor, Washington Road is closed at the Tennis Center.

In East Windsor, One Mile Road is closed between Route 571 and Dutch Neck Road due to a downed utility pole.

In Plainsboro, Petty Road is closed due to flooding. Cranbury Neck Road and Millstone Court are closed due to a road hazard. Police say to avoid the area of Scotts Corner Road between Dey Rd and Plainsboro Road due to weather-related issues.

In Montgomery, Route 605 is closed at Blue Spring Road. River Road (Rte. 533) is closed between Dead Tree Run and Bridgepoint Road due to flooding. Skillman Road is closed near Titus/Highfield due to a downed tree. Road crews are en route to remove the tree. The Griggstown Causeway is closed due to flooding. On Thursday, Hollow Road will be closed between Camp Meeting and Grandview from 730 a.m. to 4 p.m. for road repairs.

In South Brunswick, police said high winds are causing problems, including downed wires and trees. Fresh Ponds Road is closed near the East Brunswick border due to a fallen tree. Dunham Corner Road is closed near Route 535 due to a fallen tree. Roue 130 is now open. Blackhorse Lane is now open.

In Franklin Township, the Blackwell Mills and Griggstown causeways are closed. Canal Road is closed between Route 518 and Coppermine Road, from Elm to Jacques, and from Jacques to Suydam due to flooding. Bunker Hill Road is closed between Golfview and Woodfield Court due to downed trees and wires. South Middlebush is closed from Skillmans to Bennetts Lane. Meister Street between Hamilton Street and Kossuth is closed due to downed wires and trees.
