Lawrence Police: Princeton resident had handgun, 17-round capacity magazine when arrested for outstanding warrant
Police in Lawrence Township arrested two Princeton men early Friday morning who both had outstanding warrants. One of the men had a handgun and ammunition, police said.
Just after 2:30 a.m., a police officer was on a routine patrol on the 2100 block of Princeton Pike in Lawrenceville when he observed two men on bicycles violate traffic rules.
The two men were identified as Jaylin Derry-Poole, 20, of Butternut Row and Alfred Kornegay, 31, of Leigh Avenue. Police said both men had outstanding warrants for
their arrests.
Kornegay allegedly was carrying a Ruger Model 9E handgun and a seventeen-round capacity magazine. He was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of a weapon by a convicted person, possession of a large capacity magazine, and failure to submit to identification procedures.
Derry-Poole was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Both men were sent to the Mercer County Correctional Center pending a detention hearing.
