Cafe Du Pain Bakery in Lawrence closes, becomes Braulio’s Bakery & Restaurant

Café Du Pain, a beloved, award-winning bakery at the Lawrence Shopping Center, closed its doors for good on July 6.
The Creole French bakery is now Braulio’s Bakery. The eatery serves South American food, pastries, and baked goods, and has two other locations in Trenton and Columbus.
Café Du Pain was an award-winning bakery founded and operated by Marie Onyeani. Onyeani cited the long hours, the inability to take time off, and the decline in consumer spending due to inflation as reasons for closing.
“Our journey has been filled with unforgettable moments of joy, excitement, challenges, and invaluable learning experiences,” Onyeani wrote in an email to customers. “We want to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to every team member, partner, and customer who has been part of our story. Your support and engagement have meant the world to us.”
