New Jersey State Council on the Arts awards grants to 18 Mercer County organizations

The New Jersey State Council on the Arts has approved $30 million in grants for the 2024-25 fiscal year.

More than 900 arts organizations, projects, and artists in the state received funding for this fiscal year, which ends June 30, 2025. The grants were approved at the Council’s 58th Annual Meeting in Trenton last week.

In Mercer County, 18 organizations were selected to receive funding. Princeton organizations awarded grants include the Arts Council of Princeton, McCarter Theatre, and the Princeton Symphony Orchestra.

State funding for the Arts Council comes from the revenue generated through New Jersey’s hotel occupancy tax. The majority of grants provide funding that is challenging for nonprofits to raise — multiyear, flexible support to help organizations pay for operations.
