Princeton University police seek two suspects in separate lewdness incidents

On Monday, Aug. 26, two men exposed themselves in two separate incidents on or near the Princeton University campus.

At about 5:50 p.m., a man exposed himself to a jogger on the D&R Canal towpath west of Alexander Road. The man was traveling east, and the jogger was traveling west. The jogger ran away from the towpath after the incident.

The man was described as having a black backpack, with his face covered.

At about 8:30 p.m., the Department of Public Safety received a report that a male was masturbating in a car parked in a metered space on University Place. The driver drove away and headed south on University Place.

The car was described as a dark grey sedan with tinted windows.  The driver was described as bald and was wearing dark clothes.

Princeton University Department of Public Safety officials believe the incident is unrelated to the canal path incident.

If you have information about either incident, please contact the Princeton University Department of Public Safety at 609-258-1000.

Editor’s note: The Department of Public Safety did not provide any other details about the descriptions of the two suspects such as height, skin color, hair color, or approximate age.

  1. Hi Krystal – Thanks for the update on this. Just a quick clarification. The D&R Canal runs north and south, parallel to Rt 1. If the incident took place on the D&R Canal towpath (as stated), then the jogger and the man couldn’t have been travelling west or east…only north or south of Alexander Rd. Was the police report wrong, perhaps? This could be quite relevant, if any witnesses on the Canal saw this individual on the towpath, and it matched the correct direction (N or S). Perhaps a correction is in order?

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Terry

    1. Hi Terry, sorry, that was verbatim from the police report and I missed it. Thanks for the correction! Maybe they meant to refer to a crossroad but did not. Appreciate the fix. Sorry to just be responding. For some reason your comment went to the spam folder! – Krystal
