Award-winning writer Susan Sprague Diamond joins Planet Princeton as contributing food editor
For more than two decades, Susan Sprague Diamond wrote stories about food, farms, and local eateries with residents of Mercer County and beyond as the food editor for The Trenton Times. Her award-winning columns had a devoted following. But last year, the Trenton Times made more cuts, and sadly her columns were eliminated.
Since then, Susan has continued writing for other publications. She has also traveled to Alaska, edited a book, and remarried. Area foodies know her as Susan Sprague Yeske. Susan, who lost her first husband Curt Yeske in 2013, married Professor Jim Diamond on Oct. 7, 2023, and now goes by the name Susan Sprague Diamond. Jim and Susan met when Jim gave a talk on how to make your own sauerkraut. Susan covered the talk for the Bucks County Herald, and the rest is history.
Susan will write a weekly column for Planet Princeton called Food Scene. The column will feature recipes, farm happenings, and notes about restaurant news in the Princeton region. Susan will also write an occasional story featuring a Princeton area restaurant, farm, or food business. Her column will run on Wednesdays beginning Oct. 23. Welcome, Susan!
