“Detectives from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics and Anti-Crime Task Force, along with the Flemington Police Department and Raritan Township Police Department, uncovered what appeared to be a prostitution network that was operating throughout Hunterdon County in the towns of Flemington, Raritan, Lambertville, Franklin Township, and beyond New Jersey’s borders,” Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III said.

On Tuesday night, investigators arrested Perdro Sanchez, Age 52, of Brooklyn, New York and Juan Peralta-Mijangos, 20, of Highland Park. Both men were apprehended separately in Flemington while they were  transporting women who are part of the prostitution network.

“The poor and vulnerable are often exploited, and find themselves lured into this illicit activity, often deceived with promises of decent jobs and a better life for their families,” Kearns said. “Criminal activity such as this has silently made its way into Hunterdon County. We credit the detectives for initially developing a lead and the teamwork of all participants in this operation. The investigation is ongoing into the extent of this network.”

Both men were charged with promoting organized street crime by conspiring with others to commit the crime of promoting prostitution, a second degree crime. They were also charged with promoting a prostitution business. Their bail has been set at $50,000.

Investigators from the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice Human Trafficking Unit and agents from the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations were involved in the investigation.

  1. I hope the courts to prosecute them severely-send a message to the pimps/traffickers, this isn’t going to just get a ‘slap on the wrist’ anymore! Id also like the men who use these women to get harsh penalties including their identities made public. These predators may think they get away with what they do, but there is ONE who knows them and what they do-He is holding them accountable! For the victims, I offer real hope: https://stephaniesprayercorner.blogspot.com/
