Cory Booker Campaigns with Rush Holt in Princeton This Afternoon

Democratic U.S. Senate Candidate and Newark Mayor Cory Booker visited Princeton with U.S. Rep. Rush Holt this afternoon, making a pit stop at Small World Coffee before greeting swarms of supporters, shaking hands, and posing for photos on Nassau Street.
The special election to fill the Senate seat formerly held by Frank Lautenberg will be held Oct. 16. Booker leads Republican Steve Lonegan by 35 percent, according to a Rutgers-Eagleton poll taken from Sept. 3 to Sept. 9. The lead has increased from previous polls, including a Fairleigh Dickinson poll taken between Aug. 21 and Aug. 27, which showed Booker with a lead of 28 percent, and a Monmouth poll taken between Aug. 15 and Aug. 18, which had Booker winning by 16 percent.
“I’m not taking anything for granted,” Booker told Planet Princeton today when asked about the race and his campaign efforts.

Ah, good. The Senate is in desperate need of more wealthy men, I always say.
