New Asian Fusion Restaurant Opens in West Windsor
The Peony Pavilion, a new Japanese and Asian fusion restaurant, has opened at the site of the former Sunny Garden on Farber Road just off Route 1 south, adjacent to MarketFair.
Owner Lisa Shao, who has several years of experience as a local restaurateur and owns the Szechuan House in Hamilton, invested $2.5 million in the renovation of the restaurant. The new restaurant includes a private dining room with state-of-the-art video conferencing capabilities. It is available for banquets, conferences, parties, and meetings.
Master sushi chef Yoshi, formerly of Sakura in New York City, has created a menu that features both traditional and new creations that combine various Asian cuisines. The menu ranges from items like sushi, tempura, teriyaki, rice dishes and noodle dishes to entrees such as miso glazed Chilean sea bass, basil filet mignon and sesame tuna. The lunch menu features sushi, sashimi, hand rolls, tuna pizza, Japanese lunch boxes and more.
Peony Pavilion, a BYOB restaurant, will also be serving wines from Alba Vineyards in Milford. The winery was named “Winery of the Year” in New Jersey Wine Competition 2013. BYOB restaurants are permitted to serve wines produced in New Jersey.
