Scott Anderson Named James Beard Foundation Outstanding Chef Semifinalist Again
Princeton Chef Scott Anderson has been named a James Beard Foundation 2015 semifinalist for outstanding chef for the third consecutive year.
Anderson of Elements and Mistral is among 20 Mid-Atlantic semifinalists who were chosen from thousands of applications.
Judges in the 26th annual contest will cast their votes next month, and the five semifinalists with the highest number of votes in each category will become the nominees, or finalists.
Other New Jersey semi-finalists in the best chef category are: Joey Baldino of Zeppoli in Collingswood, and Dan Richer of Razza Pizza Artigianale in Jersey City.
Laura Martelli and Matthew Rosenzweig of The Flaky Tart, Atlantic Highlands are semi-finalists in the outstanding baker category.
The finalists, as well as the nominations for book, journalism, broadcast media, and restaurant design awards, will be announced in San Francisco and on Twitter on Tuesday, March 15.
The 2016 James Beard Awards Gala will be held at the Lyric Opera of Chicago on Monday, May 2. The Foundation’s Book, Broadcast & Journalism Awards Dinner will take place at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers in New York City on Tuesday, April 26.
