Local organization changes name to NonProfitConnect

VolunteerConnect, a local organization providing support to community nonprofits, has changed its name to better reflect its mission. The organization will now be known as NonProfitConnect.

As a resource for local nonprofits for more than 20 years, NonProfitConnect will continue to focus on building strong boards while increasing support for nonprofit executive leaders. In addition to training community members to serve on nonprofit boards, NonProfitConnect offers opportunities for nonprofit leaders to connect through peer circles where they can share best practices, attend training, and participate in networking events.

“This change is the next logical step in the evolution of our organization; where we can leverage our strengths and resources to best address the needs of the community,” said Toni Anne Blake, chair of the NonProfitConnect’s board.

Allison Howe, the executive director of NonProfitConnect, said the organization is excited to roll out several new pilot programs to assess how nonprofits can effectively build increasingly diverse, skilled, and engaged boards and staff leaders.
