Princeton Senior Hosting Backpack Drive

Ciara Celestin is lending a helping hand to make sure elementary school children in need start the new academic year off right.
The Princeton High senior is running a backpack drive with the help of Princeton’s human services department. She hopes to collect more than 100 backpacks filled with school supplies to be distributed to children in grades K-6 in late August.
Celestin is working on the backpack drive as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award. If her publicity efforts are any indication, her efforts will be a success. She put together her own press release and reached out to the media to raise awareness about her efforts.
The deadline for backpacks and supplies donation is August 13th. Donations are being accepted during office hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Princeton Human Services Department, which is located at the Princeton Township Municipal Complex at 380 Witherspoon Street on the lower level.
Celestin will distribute the backpacks with the help of her fellow Girl Scouts.
